Reboot (Reboot, #1) by Amy Tintera

Five years ago, Wren Connolly was shot three times in the chest. After 178 minutes she came back as a Reboot: stronger, faster, able to heal, and less emotional. The longer Reboots are dead, the less human they are when they return. Wren 178 is the deadliest Reboot in the Republic of Texas. Now seventeen years old, she serves as a soldier for HARC (Human Advancement and Repopulation Corporation).

Wren’s favorite part of the job is training new Reboots, but her latest newbie is the worst she’s ever seen. As a 22, Callum Reyes is practically human. His reflexes are too slow, he’s always asking questions, and his ever-present smile is freaking her out. Yet there’s something about him she can’t ignore. When Callum refuses to follow an order, Wren is given one last chance to get him in line—or she’ll have to eliminate him. Wren has never disobeyed before and knows if she does, she’ll be eliminated, too. But she has also never felt as alive as she does around Callum.

The perfect soldier is done taking orders.

I haven't finish the book but for now, I must say it'll be 4 stars. That's how wonderful this book is.

Normally, whenever I hear the word 'zombie', I'm all, 'Gah, not again.' So you can guess how unique this book must be to catch my attention. Yeah, and my friend still snorts when she hears that I'm reading books about zombies. Ah, no, my dear friend. It is not your typical zombie books where they rise from the dead, rotten and ugly and start dumbly murdering people in the typical zombie way where there stick their hands out, clumsily staggering. No, my friend. You should know how special this book is, given that I actually decided to read this, and of course, currently liking this a lot.

UPDATE:

I've finished it. It's wonderful. 4.5 stars for this.

Callum

That guy's just so innocently sweet!!

Wren

Ummm... Okayish, I guess.

Plot

Concept's unique but plot's slightly typical but great all the same.

I'll end then. I'll ummm... Add more stuff, I think, if I had the time.

4.5 Stars
